A missing 6-year-old boy in Julian was found safe shortly after the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department issued a community alert.

• Adrian Cotarodriguez was last seen heading west on Meadowridge Road.

• A sheriff’s helicopter made announcements to local residents at 8:09 a.m. on Monday.

• The boy was located and confirmed safe by 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

• The update was shared via the sheriff's department's social media.

83-Year-Old Killed While Crossing Oceanside Intersection

An 83-year-old pedestrian, Henry Broncy, died after being struck by a vehicle in Oceanside.

• Henry Broncy, 83, was hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in Oceanside.

• The incident occurred at Rancho Del Oro Drive and Via Rancho at around 7:30 a.m. on July 29.

• Broncy was not in the marked crosswalk when the accident happened.

• He was taken to the hospital with major injuries and passed away on Monday.

• The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, showing no signs of drug or alcohol influence.

Welcome to the North County Beat! I have lived in Carlsbad my whole life. Going to college in a vastly different area helped me realize how lucky we have it here in Southern California!
